I am going to be tiling our bathroom floor and was curious as to what the correct way was for tiling up against a bathtub and/or shower. Do you
1. Put the tile directly against the bathtub (tile touching bathtub) and caulk the seam
2. Leave your standard 1/4" gap and then grout it like normal
3. Leave a 1/4" gap and fill in completely with caulk
4. Leave your standard 1/4" gap, Fill in with grout - wait for it to dry - and then caulk the bottom seam?
I always use a grout-color-matching-caulk. I don't see much white grout these days. Color-matching-caulk comes in both "sanded" and "unsanded" and the colors match well most of the time. Even when they don't they still compliment the grout.
If you buy thye caulk where you buy the grout matching works out pretty good.
