How can I put tile over a slate surround (maybe fake slate) on my gas fireplace. I was thinking of using the small glass tiles since I do not have a tile saw or want to rent one as I cant carry it. Thanks.
Sounds like your best bet is going to be to hire a tileguy. Hire a tileguy with a little "want-to" that owns a tile saw and won't take "the path of least resistance". Hire a tileguy that can tell real slate from fake slate (whatever fake slate is) and a guy that will tell you that trying to install glass tile over slate tile is stupid.
