Tile over existing ceramic tile

I am in the process of remodeling and have glossy ceramic tile in the kitchen. Can I tile over this tile or do I have to remove it?

Note: Existing flooring- Slab on grade/Glossy Ceramic Tile
Not worried about heights, they are ok.

It would be best to remove the tile.

However you can tile over existing tile---scarify the old tile--an angle grinder with 36 grit paper works well
vacuum and set using a two part thinset-http://www.diychatroom.com/f80/mud-what-77763/

Thanks Mike! Some places have said that you should not tile over glossy finished tiles others said its fine.

If you mix your own modified thinset you will be fine---Kerabond and keralastic is a good example.
