Tile installation on raised modular home

We are planning to have porcelain tile installed in raised modular home that was erected on site in 2008. Would it be better to install 1/4" or 1/2" backer board? Would flex bond be better than versabond? Floor joist are 2x6 and 16" OC. Home is 650' from beach in MS.
