silcon backed with mesh or felt on glass tile

I am doing a glass floor instalation using glass primer colour on the back of the glass they do not suggest thinset for instalation rather they suggest silicone. If I coat the entire back of the colour with acid free silicon and apply a stucko mesh of felt will the thinset stick to it?
