Shower Floor

Hello,

I'm about to set tile in a new shower. What is the best adhesive for laying ceramic tile over durock board? And, also for the floor, what is used to set the 2x2 tiles for the floor?

I'm a little worried about your shower-- Shower pans need to be waterproof--

Powdered modified thinset is the best--stay away from premixed adhesives--they are water soluable and must not be used in a wet area

Typically a PVC membrane or rubber is installed over a pre sloped sufloor--then the membrane--then a layer of deck mud--then tiles are set into a modified thinset---

What exactly are you doing?

Water will seep through tile and grout --they are not waterproof---concrete is not waterproof,Either--water will saturate that and eventually reach the wood below---Mike--

What Gary said = Do you have a membane installed?
Do you have the floor sloped towards the drain?
