To seal or not to seal?

A tile place told me that grout is easier to clean if it is not sealed. Do you agree with this? Especially for a kitchen? If you do not agree which would be the BEST sealer? Thank you for your time

it's actually not. when grout or tile is unsealed colors can set in. spill a colored drink on unsealed grout and you create a stain. if it's sealed you can usually scrub it out or steam extract it with a tile tool

right, the sealer you choose is up to you. so far ive been impressed with 511 on travertine and slate. i like dupont on marble, just streaks less. really a personal call though. i;m also still trying to get a solid answer on some of the granites like absolute black. no sealer seems to do jack but sit on top and smear.
