Replacement Porcelain Pavers tile

My landlord will not refund my security deposit because I cracked a few tiles. All she can tell me is they are Porcelain Pavers and they were put in 5 years ago in Chicago. Looking online that description tells me NOTHING. I don't think 7 tiles should cost $470. Here is a link to a picture of the tiles. I can upload more if need be. I am quite desperate to get back as much as possible. She is also charging me to replace carpet in a 7x12ft room for $400. All together she will be keeping $870 for 7 tiles and carpet. Any leads will be appreciated!

Unless she kept extra tiles when they were placed 5 years ago, it'll be almost impossible to match the existing tiles. This means she might have to replace the entire area.

Honestly, $470 to replace 7 tiles doesn't sound that bad. You have to remove the grout around those 7 tiles...break out the 7 without damaging the other tiles...remove the old thinset...mix new thinset...place the tiles...then try to match the dirty grout.

Now after you've done all that, go around and clean up all the dust you created from removing the old tile, because it's going to be covering everything.

If it's my rent house, I wouldn't allow a renter to try to fix it themselves. If they did, they would lose their entire security deposit.

How did "you" crack the tiles - unless they were abused by dropping something on them, etc., cracked tiles are usually the result of incorrect installation.
