Removing tile from a radiant heat flooring...

How was the installation done? If the heat is embedded in self leveling compound you might be able to smash the tiles without damage---might--

If it's thinset and tile directly over a mat---you will be unlikely to save that---What are you doing?

Suggest that if you are tearing up the floor, to just trash everything, and install all new mat and underlayment backer under the tile.

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

I'm with Mike on this one. Was SLU used in the original installation?
Here's a video showing a tile I needed to change with floor heat, only difference is that I was the one that installed the floor heat and KNEW that it was protected because I used SLU.
