Removing paint from Coral rock pool coping

I am attempting to restore the original coral stone pool coping around my pool and it has been painted with several layers of paint. I have used a caustic paint remover, but it doesn't work so well so most of the layers have been removed by hand scraping. What is the best way to remove the rest of the paint? Sandblasting is not an option at this point. Thanks.
