I was over a friends and seeing him do his tiles on his bathroom tub surround and floor as i will be doing mine next week. He was using premixed motar ready to go. is that stuff any good? if yes im thinking about getting it myself. when i was there it seemed to get the job done.

Do yourself a huge favor and don't use it. Your shower will last longer than your buddies. I'm sure everyone on this site will tell you that pre mixed mortar is not recommended for areas that can get wet.

premixed motar?

Don't make the same mistake your friend did. That installation will only work in the best of conditions, but is a waste of money at best. Mastic will re-emulsify when it gets damp. Should never be used on floors, it can be used on your kitchen backsplash however.

DITRA Installs - KERDI Watertight-Mold-Free Showers. I have NEVER made a mistake, I thought I did ONCE, but, I was WRONG! A+ BBB rating - est. 1987 - over 50 yrs. exp.
