Pier & Beam and tile flooring

Must Ditra be used when ceramic tiling on a pier and beam foundation? Also are there any less expensive options to the Ditra?

Pier & Beam and tile flooring

Hi Lady,

There is no situation where Ditra is mandatory, just smart. But you've offered no info about your project, about how your pier & beam construction is done and with what. They're not all the same.

Officially, tiling on that type of construction is not recommended, but we know of many successful installation there on the left coast that have lasted a long time.

Jaz
