A diamond cutting wheel. Cut the hole smaller and then abrade it to the desired diameter.

who do i go about abrading the tile? shall i use a disc to smooth around the edge?

also what kind of diamond cutting tool i am guessing i will need a drill piece similar to that of cutting a small hole in plasterboard for spot lights.?

Any other useful tips regarding the cutting would be appreciated

thanks

OK, a circle for what reason. Be more specific, what the heck are you doing?

Allrightee then!
Standard round light fixtures have covers. If this is the case the cover is going to save you. You can use a RotoZip with a diamond blade to cut the hole but it won't be that purdy. You'll need the cover-ring to hide the imperfections but it can be done.

shabba,

How many different threads did you start here with this same identical question? What's the point in that?

The hole doesn't have to be the absolute exact size of the fixture. A little larger won't hurt anything. The 2" bit (hole saw) will do the trick.
