Looking for a Tile Cutter for Porcelain

I'm planning to use 12x12 +/- porcelain tiles for my kitchen and laundry --- about 300 SF. I've worked with porcelain tiles before and have had great success using a tile cutter. But I can't remember how I made compound cuts before (cutting out corners or slots). I'll probably have 15-20 cuts that I won't be able to snap cut with my tile cutters so I'm considering getting a wet saw. I won't be doing any tile work after this, so the saw will get little if any use.

Can I get some recommendations for under-$100 saws that will do the trick? Or can I dry cut that few with a mitre, circular or table saw? What's the correct blade to use avoid chewing up the edges?

If you're already good with a score and snap cutter----I suggest a table saw type cutter for you.

They are inexpensive and will make the compound cuts that you need.

Look in the wet saw department --they are simple and the types of cuts they can make are limited--
But for a one time job that is a good choice for a wet saw.

What Mike said. I used a $80.00 made in China wet saw and it made it through two projects fine. I did a shower and a 5x8 floor with it, both with 12x12 tiles. I was even able to manage a plunge cut for the shower control (it takes a steady hand).

I was told a score and snap wouldn't work on porcelain tiles, they said porcelain had to be cut with a wet saw.

That is a myth that has been around a long time----I find the harder the tile the better it cuts with a score and snap--

The texture of the tile makes a difference--rough and bumpy won't cut well-

Man, I wish I had known that when I install the porcelain in our kitchen a few years back, I cut every piece with a wet saw. I doubt there will be a next time for me but I hope I will remember that. Thanks Mike, I do appreciate the information.

If you're asking me, it was just a 7" blade wet saw. The saw came with two of them. I used one for each project.
