installing tile


how many times can I put down tile over tile?
It already has two layers.

I'm not an expert on this but I think that 2 layers of tile would be the maximum and if you want to install new tiles you'll have to remove everything down to the sub floor. That's what I would do at least. IMO removing old tile is much easier than removing linoleum (which I did in my kitchen/nook and took 2 weeks to finish).

What are your structural load ratings for your home? That's where you should start. You may already be asking for structural problems.
