How long to wait to grout after sealing marble tiles

I am installing marble 2x4 tiles and will seal them before grouting. I bought some sealer from lowes today made by dupont, http://www.lowes.com/pd_282489-23132...aler&facetInfo=. When I opened the instructions on the back they were all blurred, think one side smeared onto the other side or something but can't read them. I went online and found the instructions from DuPont, http://www2.dupont.com/Stone_Care/en...le_sealer.html. It says these instructions are for reference only and refer to the instructions on bottle of actual product, which I can't read.

So the instructions online say "A full cure is achieved after 2472 hours. Foot traffic may begin in 68 hours."

But doesn't say anything about how long to wait before grouting. Should I wait 24 hours before grouting for full cure? Or is a few hours good?

Usually directions tell us to grout within 16-24 hours when using sealer as a grout release. I would grout 2-10 hours after applying the sealer to be safe.

After grouting, do the final cleanup either the next day or a few day later to allow the grout to cure. You can apply sealer on the tiles and grout after waiting at least 3 days.

I'm assuming this is a backsplash, yes- no?

How long to wait to grout after sealing marble tiles

Jazman, yes it's a backsplash.

Sorry if I'm not understanding but I'm using the sealer to seal the marble tiles before grouting to prevent the grout from staining the tiles, or bleeding color into the porous tiles. Is this the same as a "grout release" as you called it?

So grouting sooner rather then later is better? As in not letting the sealer fully cure?

Thanks

it may not really matter, but I've seen instructions say to grout within 24 hours when sealing before grouting. They also make a grout release product for this purpose. I doubt you need the grout release unless the tiles are textured.

Be sure not to use a contrasting color grout either way.
