How do we darken Travertine when enhancer doesn't seem to work?

We are trying to darken up a Travertine back splash. We have tried an enhancer/sealer in an inconspicuous place, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. My husband noticed a high gloss sealer/enhancer at the store and wonders (although we don't want high gloss) if this will work better. Any suggestions?

Enhancers will darken travertine somewhat. Just depends on how dark you want to go. Keep in mind that once you have applied any sealer, whatever those results are is what you will have and it can't be changed later. Subsequent applications may darken slightly but that will stop soon.

You could use wood stain maybe.
