Grout sealer on porcelain tile.

Hello,

I have a lot of ‘Grout & Tile Sealer’ produced by TileLab grout sealer left over from my previous project. I used it about 3 years ago.
I am planning to use it again for my new project.
On the bottle it says: “Protects grout, unglazed tile and masonry” and it does not have expiration date on the bottle.
I have two questions.
1. Can I use this sealer?
2. I tiled the floor in my bathroom with porcelain tiles. Since porcelain tiles are unglazed tiles can I apply the sealer on tiles as well as on the grout to make my job easier?

Thank a lot in advance for your help.

Igor.

Grout sealer on porcelain tile.

I don't have a problem with using old sealer on grout. Perhaps I do not understand porcelain tile. They are fired so I would assume they are impervious to stains and sealers.

Grout sealer on porcelain tile.

Thanks,

Actually, instructions on the sealer bottle say it can be used for porcelain tiles as well.
So, I think it answers to my question.

Grout sealer on porcelain tile.

Do not get the sealer on the face of your tiles--You will hate yourself if you do.
Porcelain tiles should NOT be sealed.--Mike--

Not arguing with you, but could you explain why?

What about trying it on a piece of unused tile?

Porcelain is almost as hard as glass. It will not absorb any of the sealer. None.

If you put the sealer on the face of the tiles you will change the gloss of the finish--and the sealer will wear off in traffic areas--leaving you with a mess,

If you asked about putting that sealer on a picture window ----you know the answer would be no.
