grout discoloration and grout sealer

My shower has new tile and grout - the work was done by an installer. The problem is that the grout color is not even and it still gets dark in some places when wet. First, is this just a cosmetic issue? Second, is there anything we can do to fix it? Note: we have already sealed the grout and calling the original installer is not an option.

further question

So does this mean that the grout discoloration is a cosmetic issue only? Also, is the uneven color something that can be fixed somehow?

Does the grout return to an even color overall when allowed to dry?

grout color

No. The grout color is uneven.

That condition is typically caused from varying levels of tile adhesive in the grout joints when the grout was installed. Installer error.

Tile adhesive that is allowed to purge randomly between tiles and not cleaned to a consistent level prior to installing grout will cause grout to cure at different rates thereby causing grout mottling.

Thank you. Does curing at different rates mean that it will eventually even out? It has been 2 months and it is still an issue.
