Grout or caulk shower?

I replaced a cracked bottom tile and cut away the grout line where the wall meets the floor in the shower all the way around. Everything is sound so here's my question. Do I still grout where the wall and floor meet or should I use a silicone caulk? Should I use a sanded or non sanded grout around the tile I replaced and what's the difference? I don't know if the existing grout is sanded or non sanded.

Grout or caulk shower?

small joints like those on a wall use non-sanded grout. It is finer and fits better in smaller joints. The larger aggregate like in a sanded grout is used for larger joints where more strength is needed. Use a caulk colored to the grout color for the wall to floor and wall to wall transitions.

Grout or caulk shower?

1/8" or small joints use unsanded grout.
The transition from wall to floor, or any change in plane, gets caulked, not grouted. Be careful if you use a caulk that's color matched to grout. Not all of them are acceptable to use in areas that are susceptible to excessive water, like the wall to shower floor joint. Read the instructions before you buy it.

Grout or caulk shower?

Both Mapei and Dap make caulks to match their grout.

Grout or caulk shower?

Is there a grout company that doesn't make caulk to match all or most of their grouts? These caulks are acrylic or siliconized acrylic. I do not recommend regular silicone caulk for tilework.
