Hi having difficulties replacing a floor tile, I have managed to take up broken tile without any problems. However I can not seem to get the replacement tile to fit back in place, it´s a tile surrounded on three sides by tiles and the fourth by a wall. No matter how I jiggle the tile I only manage to get two sides to slide into place. Anyone have any ideas its driving me crazy been at it 3 hours trying to make it fit. PS its a tile I had from the original box of tiles when the floor was laid.

That's strange----------I'm sure you took a ruler and measured the existing tile--and the replacement.

How big is the grout line? I've got to go to work soon, There are several tile pros here--someone else will offer a solution.

If you can post a picture it would help.(I'll understand if you don't--I'm computer impaired myself)

Good luck! I'll check in tonight.--Mike--

When that happened to us in my laundry room, we tried for hours and couldn't get it to work. Finally, we called a pro and he said sometimes that happens if you don't sand the grout off. For some reason we did that, and after my hubby shaved a little with somekind of tool it fitted. Just an idea . It was so frustrating when that happened. One tile in my kitchen has a couple cracks, and I am not excited to tackle that.

Hope it turns out well.

Mike,

They are the correct size, from the builder of the house when we moved in left us supplies of spare tiles used just in case of issues like this. Anyway after trying to clean some more I accidentally broke the tile next to it, although I have now remove that tile also. The problem persists as now the original tile will fit but the whole let from the one I broke wont. Begining to think it might be best taking the line back to the wall and then usuing the fact the last tile is not a full one by cutting it will solve the issue.
