Filling/covering control joints while laying tile on concrete

I am getting ready to lay porcelain tile on a 6 month-old concrete covered porch. After reading, I believe I am asking about control joints (rather than expansion joints). Do I need to fill them with caulk or cover them with membrane before laying the tile? Does the control/expansion joints in the tile (that to be caulked instead of grouted) needed to lie above the same joints in the concrete? If the answers are yes, please tell me what products are best. I live in Indiana, subject to the freeze/thaw issue.
