Faux Marble Threshold?

I am having a new tile floor installed in my bathroom. It was requested to have a Carerra Marble threshold and it was written into the contract. A solid white threshold was installed. It does not feel cool to the touch like real stone but I do not know what it could be made of. It seems to be a very hard substance. . . anyone know what it might be and how I can tell for sure?

Put a drop of dilute hydrochloric acid (a.k.a. muriatic acid) on it - if it fizzes, it's marble (or some other variety of calcium carbonate).

Do this test in an inconspicuous spot of course, since HCl will leave a mark on marble.
