Concrete basement floor prep for tiling

I'm about ready to tile (porcelain) my basement bathroom (concrete) floor. I will have to apply leveling compound in a couple of spots. This is a dry floor and no cracks, has never had a sealer applied. It is below grade if that matters. Outside of leveling and cleaning what other surface prep should I do before applying thinset and laying tile?

That's all you need.
How far is it out that you feel you need to level it.
Not guesses, facts on how far out.

Level does not matter much, how flat it is does.
