Cement board under Bullnose?

Hi all,

I'll be installing cement board in the shower and was curious how far out cement board should be installed so that the bullnose tiles properly bond to the wall? Can I leave about an inch of drywall so that the bullnose covers the seam between the cement board and drywall? If this is recommended, will thinset bond to drywall or must I use a different adhesive on half of the bullnose to ensure it bonds to the drywall? The reason for leaving an inch or so of drywall is because it is already texture and painted....

You can overlap the tile onto drywall as much as you want. Thinset and tile bond to drywall just fine. Not necessarily through the texturing though. I would scrape off the texturing in the area, depending on what kind of texturing it is and how well it's adhered to the wall.
