Can I retile the existing shower pan?

I have a perfectly good shower pan with ugly pink tile on it. Can I just strip the tile off and retile the existing shower pan? I could use a pneumatic chisel to get the old tile off.

Monty,

Why risk damaging the base or the wall tiles? If the pan was built right and everything is working you can tile over the old floor.

So do I just rough up the old tile? Etch? Do I have to extend the drain?

Thanks again

Make sure the floor is super clean. Rough it up if you wanna. Belt sander #60. Buy a bag of good quality modified thin set. Find and Exten-O-Drain. http://www.tools4flooring.com/extend...it-p-1024.html
