Bullnose this tile
1st- thanks to all who help on this site....it's great!!!
She picked it I layed it...I think it's travertine. I'm looking to round or bullnose the edge. I've been reading and just want to confirm that because travertine is soft a beltsander and sandpaper starting at 60grit and going to 350 is all that is needed. The tile is 1/2 inch. Any advice that would help ? Thanks Chip |

Bullnose this tile
The travertine will take a bullnose nicely. I usually take an angle grinder with a diamond blade to do a rough bevel and then use a palm sander w/ 60 grit, but your method of using a belt sander sounds good as long as you finish it with a palm sander (more mobility to round the edge). I usually fabricate a model and keep it to make sure the following bullnose look the same, as you pretty much have to eyeball it.
