Best drill under $100 for installing hardibacker

Hi all,

I am installing hardibacker on my kitchen floor and want to know what is the best drill to use to install that easiest.

I have heard that using a corded drill would be best.

Any one have any suggestions as far as brands and amp size?

Thanks!

I would say best would be a corded drill since you have to drill the snot out of the sheets.
Use backer on screws.

I never use a drill I use an impact driver.
I bought one years ago and like it so much I bought 2 more for my crew.
It's a Ryobi and years later of daily use they still work fine.
Also far better when do decking or in fact any screwing.

I use a Deck Gun--like a drywall gun but slower and more powerful.

It would be silly to buy a special use tool for one job---

A corded drill will offer more uses in the future--or even a battery operated one with good torque will work/

My cordless Ryobi 18v is still going strong I have like 5 batteries and 2 chargers good for small jobs.

Ditto on the above. I have a ryobi and a dewalt impact drivers, both 18v. They work great for deck screws, hardi backer, just about anything really. Easier to use than a drill.
