Backsplash Installation - Outlets

I am planning to put a ceramic backsplash in our kitchen this week. I am wondering how people get the outlets "flush" with the backsplash. The "wall" will be extended out 1/4-1/2 inch so how do people get the outlets right?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Outlet box extenders are pretty common.

Longer screws for the devices are usually enough if the rough in is done right.

I cut my tile small enough if you will, that the metal "fingers" on the top and bottom of the outlest rested on the tile...worked out just fine for me...

Definitely tile up as close to the box as possible...it gives you more options in terms of cover plates and makes installation easier. If you need longer screws they are 6-32.
