2x2 mosaic w/paper mesh in shower

Hello, I am wondering if a 2x2 mosaic which is held together with what appears to be a type of brown paper mesh and another type of plastic mesh on top of the paper mesh (so there are two types of materials holding this mosaic together) can be used on a shower floor. I don't know much about tiling but it occurred to me that this might not be ok. Any opinions / experience with this? Any comments appreciated. Thanks gmbun

2x2 mosaic w/paper mesh in shower

OK I'm confused! Is the paper and the mesh on the same side of the sheet?
