What to do first in a kitchen remodel?

My cabinets are crap builder grade and already the doors are falling off after just a year so I'm getting those redone. The floors are travertine but some tiles are higher than others and can cut your foot when wet so I'm replacing all the floor in the house with bamboo. Kitchen included. The walls are alright but I love the idea of having stacked slate on the walls. The countertops are laminate and must be replaced. I want caesarstone and I'm replacing my stainless steel double sink with a double copper apron sink. My problem is what do first?

Do I have to gut the entire kitchen? Do I do my cabinets before the wall or the floors first?

First step is a plan---

Decide on lighting for under the cabinets--can lights and other electrical---layout--Cabinets and appliances in the same spot?

Next--order cabinets---after they arrive--start work--(you don't want the place demoed and find out the cabinet order was screwed up--)

Next--demo---remove counter top--cabinets--floor covering--and usually a 4 foot wide slice of drywall where the cabinet back splash was.

Next is mechanical---cabinet light wiring--new switches--lighting changes--

Plumbing----replace the drain opening with a T---at the appropriate height for your new deeper sink
New stub outs so you don't have to make huge holes in the cabinet backs for the old shut off valves.

Next---repair drywall and prime and one coat of paint

Then--floor

Cabinets on top of new floor

Counter top

New base molding

Final electrical--

undersink plumbing and appliances



Back splash

Final paint

Thank you. The plan is already done. I even know that I want the electrical sockets hidden in the cabinets and have under cabinet lighting.

Had no idea about the plumbing so I guess I might have to higher a professional for some of the work.

Thank you both---I've found that it be the fastest and simplest order of things--

The drain is important----ripping up the back of a new cabinet because the drain is to high is frustrating.
