putting in a new bathroom in the basement and need some advice on a vent fan and heat. I don't plan to use the regular house heating system to heat this bathroom as in the summer, even with the vent closed, the a/c would make the bathroom very cool. The basement never get's above about 70 degrees in the summer. I am considering a ceiling mounted vent fan/heater, with or without a light. I have looked at a few online that are sold by Lowes and Home Depot, two are Broan and Panasonic. Reading reviews I am scared away because many reviews on these two units tell of bad heat elements which need to be replaced. Any recommendation on a good reliable product would be greatly appreciated. One thing I could consider would be a vent fan in the ceiling and a wall mounted heater on a timer for in the wall. Lighting could be in a unit or I can just buy a big box store light and place it near the fan. The fan will not be in the center of the room anyway because there is only one void between the floor joists that has an open shot to get a vent line outside. Any suggestions?
