vapor barrier behind cement board
 

i have come across different advice regarding the use of vapor barrier behind cement board.

the Hardiebacker (which is what i am using for my bathroom) documentation does not mention anything about it but a book that i have does.

should i use vapor barrier behind hardiebacker or not?

Cement board is more porpus than hardibacker, but either way, I would recommend a vapor barrier.
