Question

Upstairs fiberglass shower leaking - help?

I just discovered that the upstairs one piece shower stall (30 years old) has been leaking into the room below and the sheetrock is black and moldy in about a 1 foot square area. The shower valves are on an exterior wall. I want to redo this shower anyway. I wasnt going to do this until after the Holidays. Should I cut out the effected sheetrock downstairs and see if I can get to the source of the leak/ and or just get out the sawsall and get to work?
