Hi Everyone,

Here's the deal, I want to replace my current cabinet hinges that are 3/8" overlay like this:

Here are pictures of the actual hinges http://imgur.com/a/YwSof

Since unfortunately it is impossible to find these hinges in Satin Nickel I thought about painting them but given more thought I don't think it will look good. And sending them out to be nickel plated is cost prohibitive.

It looks like my only option is going to be to use a variable overlay hinge, I'm looking at these in Satin Nickel.

I'm not much of a woodworker so since I am going to have to attach and mount these from scratch I would appreciate any advice as to the correct way to go about doing this.

Do I mount them to the doors first and then attach to the cabinet face?

Is there a better way to mount them to the face other than to have someone hold the door up with a level and attach to the cabinet face?

I just want to make sure I do this the correct way so your help is very appreciated.

Thanks Again.

Variable Overlay Decorative Hinges - Rockler Woodworking Tools

Fixed your link---

Best to attach them to the door first---then clamp a wood ledger strip to the face frame at the bottom--if there is enough room--

Set the doors on the ledger and mark the holes with an awl---pre drill a tiny pilot hole--then attach the hinge to the face frame--

That type of hinge is not adjustable--so be very careful---
