tin ceiling tiles as a kitchen backsplash

For months, we have been bringing tiles back and forth to try and find what we like for a kitchen backsplash and there has just been no "wow factor". While tumbled travertine is beautiful, it is just not quite right. We have light cherry cabinetry with black crown moulding (simple recessed doors and drawers for a more contempory flair), medium oak plank flooring, verde butterfly granite counter tops, door pulls which are black to match the lighting fixtures and glass top table and very modern Electrolux appliances. If you could say we had a theme, it would be Bistro, as we have black, red and white thru the room. We brought home some thermoplastic panels in a 'stainless color", which are just like tin ceiling tiles and we went WOW!!!!!!!. I do not really want plastic panels but will certainly spend the money for tin tiles. The pattern we like has squares and triangles so despite being an old style it also looks brand new. My questions are these. Have you installed these before and how difficult is it to do? How would you finish the edging? Wood painted to look like stainless or ? The tin crown moulding will not work as it would not look right. Thanks.
