Hello!
I am due to install a glass tile back-splash in the kitchen and currently I am finishing the wall. Should I apply a tile membrane? Glass tile says use correct thin-set and that should be all, but with the construction of this house I just wonder if I should add the extra security of more movement separation? I really don't want to develop cracks in tile or grout. Plan is to use Durock Tile Membrane to get me an even smooth substrate to apply to.
All interior walls in this house are 5/8" drywall, don't know why... The original owner also had R-13 insulation in the wall between kitchen and hall bathroom. Also, they had R-13 in-between same bathroom and bedroom on opposite side. I have no plan to put insulation back as the hall bathroom has no exterior walls.
