thermofoil white kitchen cabinets

I would like to add hardware to my white 42" thermofoil kitchen cabinets but I'm concerned about drilling holes. Is it okay to drill holes to attach hardware (pulls and/or knobs) in this type cabinetry.

Thanks so much for taking time to respond.

Is there knobs and pulls on them now? If so just replace them with new ones the same spacing.
If there's nothing there now, yes it can be drilled. I would look for a drill guide while I was picking up the knobs.
It's a simple cheap plastic guide that guides the drill bit so it drills in the exact same place each time. No measuring needed.
I'd use what's called a bullet point drill bit. It has a tip on the end of it to keep the drill from slidding around.

Joecaption, Hartfield, VA: I currently have no hardware on the cabinets, that's why I've been nervous about making that drill mark. Thanks so much for your information and I will make sure I buy a "guide".
