Question

Is there anyone that will just change the metal frames in my shower surround?

I have 2 bathrooms that have bright brass finishes that I want to update. The shower surround in each would be quite expensive to replace -- especially when the only thing I want to change is the finish (to a satin nickel) -- the master bath alone is comprised of 5 panels.

Does anyone know if there are companies that will just replace the shower surround metal framing and re-use my existing glass? I'm assuming that this would yield significant savings.

Thank you!

I would think what you propose would cost MORE! Have you considered painting the existing frames in a complimentary color?
WAY cheaper!

DM is on the right track. Rustoleum has a lot of great products and finishes out now. I had a similar issue with a brass fireplace glass. I used the "hammered" finish by Rustoleum and it turned out great. Tape everything off and with about $15 you may get the look you are looking for.

I had thought about the Rustoleum products but figured it either wouldn't adhere well enough to the brass (I know I have to sand it down a bit first) and also wouldn't stand up to the punishment of a shower environment -- not just the wet and humidity but also the cleaning required. I may give it a try as a last resort -- especially if I decide to go with the alternative of replacing the glass panels if it doesn't work anyway.
Thanks all.

I agree with you here. I seriously doubt it would last very long.

Search custom shower frames, and then contact them for more information.
