Taping hardibacker seams after priming with Redgard

I have primed my cementboard with 1/4 strength RedGard while awaiting some repairs behind one wall of cement board. I wasn't thinking about that the thinset/mesh tape might not work over the primed surface. What do you think? Is it ok to use mesh tape and thinset to bond the corners after the board is primed? (I haven't used any full strength RedGard yet). Also, one tile guy told me the only seams requiring taping are the corners. I thought all the joined surfaces needed taping.

Thanks!

This is very interesting. I can see why newbees get cornfused!:(
I've heard that all seams need taping, as well. 1/4 or full strength Redgard? I plan to use Redgard, but am not familiar with dilution or not.
Hope you get an answer soon, as I'll be working on it this week.

The 1/4 strength is for priming the cbu, before applying the 2-3 layers full strength.

This is correct.

It is good to also sponge-away any surface dust before priming the boards with diluted RedGard. The primer coat is just that - a primer coat. Subsequent applications are then needed.

ALL seams are to be closed and sealed and YES the thinset and tape will work over the primed surface. If tile will adhere then so will the tape and fill.:)
