tankless water heaters

I have a question about tankless water heaters.

I wanted to know if they are able to keep up with the hot water demands of a shower?? I do not have natural gas, so I would need an electric model.

currently I have a 60 gal. water heater that is at the opposite end of the house. there are two bathrooms (stacked) in the old part and no way to move the water heater closer. I will be adding a second shower this year.

I have replaced the main plumbing runs to 3/4" copper and step down to 1/2" just before each appliance.

my thought was to remove the water heater and install a tankless at/around the bathroom area and reduce the length of time the hot water has to run in order to get hot water.

I am looking for opinions as to a good make/model to accomplish and if it is a good idea or to stay with traditional.

thanks in advance
