Special paint needed in bathroom?
Hi. I'm about to paint my bathroom in the flat i'm renting. I can see it already has at least two coats on it already (I can see the horrible green underneath the cream!!).
Do I need to use a special time of paint due to the humidity etc or can I just paint right over the top of what already there with normal paint?? |
Their are paints made for Bathrooms that handle the moist environment better. Also it would be best to stick with a gloss or semi gloss in a bathroom. Hardware or home store should easily help you pick one out that will work in a bath. Figure the area for coverage you will need so you can buy the right amount. No reason to buy a gallon if you are only going to use a quart. You may want to consider a primer/sealer to help block out that horrible green.

If your bathroom is well ventilated then there isn't much need for a special paint which is more expensive.
A top tip if you are painting over a dark or strong colour: Instaed of using two coats of your chosen expensive colour, use a cheaper white version of the type of paint you are using as the first coat thyen apply the expensive one straight over that! Cheers |
