Might want to let us see what type hinges and cabinets you have now, and what you bought that did not work.

There are a bunch of manusacturers that make a European type cabinet hinge with the soft-close feature. So, if you have standard 35 mm euro hinges you should be able to do a relatively easy switch.
A quick check at Hime Cheapo's site showed some at around $10 a piece. I'm sure you could do better on-line.

here ya go. the ones that were on these cabs at the building supply where we bought them worked very well. but doesn't mean they are good.

here are the gadgets. they are not strong enough. the door can hit a little hard and often bounce. though they are better than nothing, imo.

The Bluemotion closers are good. I have a different style that clips onto the hinge. You'll find them cheaper from an online cabinet hardware store.

Check out Custom Service Hardware. Blumotion soft close hinges work great. And you can adjust them to close softly, not so softly, or no buffer at all.

Much cheaper than $10 each.
