Shower pan first or backerboard??

I Have preslope and liner membrane down. I'm hearing and seeing two different theories on what is the next step. Shower pan and then backerboard down to the Pan? Or backerboard and then pan butt up against backerboard. Or backerboard but leaving enough room for pan to go under it?

Shower pan first or backerboard??

I install the wall rock before the top deck mud00the mud holds the wall tight.
How to build a shower - Building a shower pan with pre-sloped mortar bed, liner and curb.

How could you get a tight wall/pan connection if the board is not in before the deck mud?

Shower pan first or backerboard??

I agree with the post above. The pan is going in between the walls. The walls are not built on top of the pan.

Shower pan first or backerboard??

Water drains down the backer, you want the pan to be able to catch this and get it drained away. Mud, liner, backer, waterproofing coating and then the tiling.

Shower pan first or backerboard??

Ok. Thanks for the help! I'll install backerboard first leaving small gap from liner. Then I'll do the shower pan up to the backerboard. Then waterproof. Then tile. Lots of great help here. Thanks for that link!
