shower floor pan

I am building a shower pan in my basement. It is concrete floor. Do I have to pour concrete on top of concrete and then use the rubber liner or can I just place the rubber liner on top of the original floor( which is concrete)? Or does it really matter. Beardude

Beardude, I assume you are going to be tiling this pan? If this s the case you will need a preslope and then rubber and then the base for tile.

Or just get a pre-formed pan, waterproof (use the best drain on the planet) and be done.
