Shower drain smell

I recently redid my master ensuite with new shower - sink and toilet - shortly after all was finished I noticed a smell in the bathroom.....it does smell like something rotten in the shower drain......I have no idea of how to get rid of the smell.....I usually turn on hot water in the shower ev ery morning and it goes away for a little while.....help I hate the smell......it cost enought to put a new bathroom in and I don't want to pull it all out again........am in bc

Did you install a trap under the shower?
Is the shower vented?
