Shower door size

I'm probably making more of this than I need to, but...

I have a stand up shower with a 44" opening. I'm planning to install bypass doors. My shower door size choices are 40-44 or 44-48. Which one should go with? Price is the same. My concern is that the smaller one might be more prone to having some leakage at the overlap. Conversely, the larger one will have a smaller entry/exit opening area.

FWIW, sometimes in a real tight shower the way you close the doors can make a difference.

If your shower head is on the side rather than opposite the doors, by showering with the inside door closer to the shower head you will minimize any chance of leakage.
