Restaining a two toned kitchen

Our cabinet frames are stained darker and our doors are stained lighter. We want to restain the frame and doors to be the same color...going darker. How can we be sure the frames and doors will match in the end?

Trail and error and the proper prep of both.
Do you know how to bleach wood?

I would wonder why they are different. If the doors are replacements, (i.e. different age or even different wood) getting them to match exactly may be a challenge. Paint, rather than stain, may be an easier option.
