Re-Using shower pan

Two years ago, we removed the bath tub from the bathroom and had a 4 piece fiberglass shower unit installed. (4 Pieces - shower pan and 3 walls)

Is it possible or recommended to re-use this shower pan if we were to remove the fiberglass walls and have tile installed? We kind of remember the walls locking into the pan to keep it water tight.

More info: The shower is used by our son, who has difficulty walking. The pan has a really unique pattern in it, that makes it almost 100% slip proof. Also the drain is at the front of the shower, so there is no fear of him putting his shower chair through the drain. He refuses to use that no slip tape on the floor. since it makes him look crippled.. The original enclosure was purchased at plumbing supply store, on a going out of business sale. No idea of the manufacturer.

Thank you

Most 4 piece shower sets can be used as 'pan only'--I suggest you remove the wall sections and look---

Also--if the pan is unique looking--start searching---there are only a few different manufactures---

Re-Using shower pan

Thanks for the replies. Tried taking a photo, but there is not enough detail to show what Im talking about. It looks sort of like this, but instead of straight lines they are irregular shaped circles. I guess to look like rocks, maybe a manufacturing defect who knows... Ours is not ada compliant as the curb is a bit higher.

anyway thanks for the replies, its one more thing we can possibly scratch off the "to buy" list Appreciate the time.

Show us a photo of your actual shower base anyway. That picture you have offered means nothing.
