putting in tub surround with a window
I am wondering what the best option might be to put a tub surround around a tub that has a window. I am looking to replace the window with a vinyl window unless there is a better option. I dont want to use glass blocks or anything like that. I plan to use cement board on all walls but am not sure the best way to water seal the window and surrounding area. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Best thing to do is get rid of the window totaly, reframe and just have a transom window. or add a solor tube. It's amazing how the whole room can light up with one solor tube. You can even get one with a light in it to use at night.

If you insist on keeping the window get a vinyl replacement window and replace all the trim with vinyl and seal all the trim behind it with silicone caulking.

When you say "tub surround" are you saying tile or plastic?

Trying to do this on a pretty restricted budget, so plastic is unfortunately the option.

Just so you know, you can get acrilic block replacement windows.
Still get the light but no one can see in.

Just to clarify - I think we're all assuming when you say "tub surround" you mean tub/shower surround.
If it's just a tub it will be a whole lot easier.

Your assumptions are correct, its a tub with a shower surround
